Based in Hong Kong.

You will be a member of the team directly responsible for the ongoing maintenance and regional support of the networking solution team via phone, online chat and email.

You will use fundamental technical troubleshooting skills to define and isolate technical issues. 

You will be required to log, document and track the status of client inquiries.

The Technical Support Engineer demonstrates a high level of proficiency in troubleshooting skills, and in their quality, accuracy, and timeliness of customer support. The Engineer will also demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment, the ability to take ownership of issues until resolution and the ability to learn new technologies and attain new certifications with minimal supervision.

The Engineers skills should include advanced knowledge and certification in networking technologies (CCNA or equivalent minimum), with significant knowledge and/or certification achievement in one or more secondary platforms (Windows or UNIX).

Possess a good working knowledge of Unix/Unix-like operating systems as well as a strong knowledge of network protocols, devices, and commonly used tools to troubleshoot network related issues.

Implementation / configuration and theoretical experience with all of the following technologies are required for this position:

• Sniffers and Protocol Analyzers (e.g.tcpdump, ethereal) along with strong network trace analysing skills.
• Sound security knowledge (e.g. SSL/TLS, VPNs, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, PKI)
• A strong working knowledge of application layer protocols
• In-depth knowledge of Layer 4-7 load balancing and SSL acceleration
• Excellent understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite.
• Unix/Unix-like server operating systems (Solaris, FreeBSD, Linux)
• Sound knowledge of the HTTP protocol
• Strong working knowledge of commonly used appliances (load balancers, cache devices, packet shapers)

Additionally, the candidate should have experience/knowledge with the following concepts and/or technologies:

• Internet software (Apache, BIND)
• Network monitoring and management (e.g. nagios, mrtg/rrd, snmp)
• Scripting (preferably Shell & Perl)
• Regular expressions
• Working knowledge of routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, BGP)
• A good understanding of WAN and LAN switching and routing.
